Isle Soft Serve SUP Review
Soft top SUPs are an excellent investment for the whole family who’s looking to add some fitness and fun while out on the water. The price for a soft top SUP? It’s literally half the price of a hard top! If that doesn’t have you hooked, just wait for the rest!
The Classic has a soft top deck that’s constructed with an EPS core embedded with triple wood stringers for the rigidity and firmness you need to stay afloat. But, lending to its soft top build, the deck has been topped off with polyurethane foam for ultimate comfort and underfoot cushioning.
Who would want a soft top SUP? It would be a huge benefit for beginners and families just getting into SUPping. For the same reasons that rental SUP shops typically lend these out are the same reasons you’ll want one.
They’re generally wider than most hard tops. The 9’6″ board is 33″ wide and the 10’8″ SUP is 31″ wide. The extra width makes it easier for beginners to maintain balance and for fitness gurus to practice some sun salutations on the lake.
Another benefit of the soft top deck is that it’s extremely durable. It’s not going to be affected like a hard top board when you hit those rocky shores. You’ll also be left bump and pain-free when you take a fall and your board smacks you in the face – it’s soft!
The Isle Classic is budget-friendly, family-friendly, and even four-legged pal friendly! We did say the whole family could enjoy it, that includes your furry friends too!

Best Suited For
The Classic SUP is a great board for anyone looking for an all-round board. It’s perfect for recreational use on flat water and light waves. While beginners benefit the most from the soft top SUP, experienced SUPpers will be able to exceed the weight limits and get maximum use from the board because of their, well, experience.
The Isle Classic Soft Top SUP is loved by families! They love the price, the stability, and the all-round functionality that can support the skill levels of every SUPper. It’s super lightweight to tote around, and on water, there’s plenty of room to get up and down, change out shoes and swim gear, and oh yeah, paddle!
However, some negative reviews revealed that they weren’t impressed with the soft top design. It does make us wonder did they have any clue as to what they were buying in the first place? Ignorance aside, when buying a SUP, the soft top is prone to indentations when strapping down the board. That may very well be a legitimate drawback from the soft top deck.
Frequently Asked Questions
The most comparable board to the Isle Classic is the Raystreak 10′ Soft Top SUP. It’s priced around the same range with very similar dimension specs. For extra protection from abuse, it features tail and nose bumpers. It also comes with a bungee for on-board storage and even a carry bag, but it doesn’t throw in the paddle like the Isle Classic does. So, you’ll have to weigh up the features you want the most.
However, if budget is not an issue and you want the very best soft top SUP, then the BIC Sport SOFT-TEC Performer SUP is a win-win situation. Although it’s pricey, its soft top construction is flawless. They also offer three sizes in the SOFT-TEC Performer series to suit any member of the family. While there’s some neat features of the BIC SUP, it doesn’t come with any accessories whatsoever, despite that you’re spending over a thousand bucks for it!
